The Peterhof Palace was built in 1714 at the behest of Peter the Great, it was the residence of the Tsars until the October Revolution. The name comes from the German court of Peter. It is a complex of palaces, gardens, overlooking the Gulf of Finland. The main building, the Grand Palace, is in Baroque Style.
